Creating globe rotation effect - Flash Tutorial

BELOW IS THE EXAMPLE OF WHAT WE ARE GOING TO CREATE.
In this Flash tutorial you will learn to create rotating globe. This method will not give 100% perfect effect, but non the less you can learn somthing out of this tutorial.
So fire up your flash application and select new flash document from the menu. Keep the frame rate at default ( 12 FPS ) and size as per your requirements.
One the first layer draw a circle with the help of oval tool and fill it with radial gradient. Name this layer as globe.

Create a new layer and import any map image. Name this layer as map. Align this map image vertically centre. It should be between the the sphere. The start of the sphere and the image map should be aligned perfectly. Refer to the image below.

Click on frame 30 and create a keyframe ( F6 ). At frame 30 move the image map to the left. On frame 31 create a keyframe again. Copy the image map ( Ctrl + C ) and paste in place ( Ctrl + Shift + V ). Move this copy of image map on the right so that the start of the second copy is just touching the end of 1st copy.

Select both the copies and press Ctrl + G to group them. Create a keyframe at 60 again. Move the grouped image map to the left so that the second copy aligns with the start of the globe.
Create motion tween between 1 and 30 & 31 and 60. If you test your movie now you can see a continuous map movement. But this is above the globe. So the next step is to mask the portion outside the globe. Create a new layer above the map layer and name it mask. Copy the sphere you created on globe layer and paste it on the mask layer using paste in place option. Now right click on the mask layer and select mask. Add frames for the globe layer by pressing F5 at frame 60. Thats it.
