WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER TUTORIALS - SLIDESHOW MOVIE

This is first of the articles in this category - Windows Movie Maker

To make a photo slideshow with music in the background. It is very easy to make photo slideshow with Windows Movie Maker 2.0. Follow the steps below and create an eyecatching video.

1. Open Windows Movie maker Application.
2. Go to File menu - Import into Collections ( Ctrl + I ) all your photos/images which are to be used in building the slideshow video.
3. You will now find all your images in the collections window.
4. Start dragging the images one by one and in sequence into the timeline window ( video row ) at the bottom.
5. Once you have added all your images select the first one and goto collections drop down menu. Select video effects from the options and select fade in from black OR ease in. The choice is absolutely yours. Drag the effect between the images.
6. Click all the images individually and apply the same video effect. A star icon gets attached to the image once you apply the effect.
7. Goto collections drop down menu and select video transition. Again click individually and apply any transition from the options. My favourite is wipe narrow right.
8. At this stage your slide show movie is almost ready. The only thing required now is background music. Now, if you have a small music clipping on your computer import the same to the collections folder. The method to import the music clipping is same as importing images.
9. Once you see the clipping in your collections window drag and drop it in the audio/music row of the timeline. Once the music is imported check the width of the video and audio rows. If they are not of the same width then crop the music or
change the duration of the individual images. This can be done by clicking individual image and dragging towards left or right to increase / decrease the duration. The same can be done with the music clip.

To enhance this video slideshow you can add a title slide at the beginning.

Save the project for future editing by clicking file menu and selecting save project option. Finally, save the movie for playing either on computer or on the web via the save file option from File menu. The wizard will guide you to create appropriate movie.
